RSE

Sacramento, California

12,864 Sq Ft

Founded by the late Jean Runyon and shaped alongside Estelle Saltzman and the executive team, RSE’s story set the tone from day one—a highly creative, social impact–driven public relations agency and steadfast supporter of the arts whose evolving culture called for a workplace that could carry both legacy and momentum. Located on the first floor of 2020 L Street, the space became an opportunity to ground that vision in architecture, where an early design blitz—sparked by a color psychology exercise and playfully dubbed “Right-brainogy”—aligned the team around movement, transparency, and curated art. A continuous circulation loop wraps a central core, supporting dynamic presentations, training, open collaboration, and a flexible break room for larger gatherings, while private offices are strategically placed within the core to free the perimeter for honeycomb workstations and collaborative zones that fully engage natural light. Daylight extends deep into the floor plate, illuminating walkways that orbit the core and reinforcing openness throughout, as an exposed high roof deck creates a refined industrial backdrop and a tailored palette allows art and expressive moments to lead—faceted forms and intentional bursts of color animate the lobby and commons, resulting in a forward-looking environment that is disciplined in its architecture, bold in its collaboration, and aligned with RSE’s founding vision while fueling the work ahead.
