Inspired by the teachings and legacy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yossi and Malkie Korik founded Chabad of Roseville in 2005 as a vibrant center for Jewish life, education, and outreach in Placer County, and are now advancing a Jewish Community Center in Granite Bay through ongoing conceptual design and collaboration. Rooted in the Chabad-Lubavitch philosophy of making tradition accessible, joyful, and relevant, the architectural vision draws from the iconic New York headquarters, interpreted regionally through brick façades, corbel detailing, peaked rooflines, bay windows, and sculpted stone—expressing warmth, permanence, and welcome. The concept is organized to support worship, education, hospitality, and community gathering, with spaces including a social hall and sanctuary, classrooms, library, multipurpose and collaboration areas, administrative offices, and a full-service kitchen for holidays and events. A dedicated children’s wing introduces brighter tones and organic forms, transitioning into a richer material palette of warm woods, textured stone, and terra cotta in shared spaces, while carefully designed mikvahs require coordinated structural systems, rainwater collection, and adherence to religious and civic requirements. As the design evolves, the project is shaping a future center that will serve as a spiritual home, educational hub, and welcoming presence for the broader community.
