Cielo Sulla Terra

Cielo Sulla Terra began as a long-held dream for Marc and Shelley—a move to the country to create a place where land, animals, and community thrive together, inspired by their love of Italy and wine. Set at 2,400 feet in El Dorado County, the vineyard benefits from warm days, cool evenings, and mineral-rich soil that shape both the vines and the experience of the land. Our design reimagines the property as a cohesive destination anchored by a new tasting room, with site improvements and a future residential remodel envisioned for events and retreats. Repositioned to capture panoramic vineyard views, the tasting room opens to an elevated patio, where large sliding glass walls dissolve the boundary between indoors and out and a double-sided fireplace with a substantial timber mantel anchors both settings. Inside, a long butcher-block bar backed by illuminated wine storage forms the social center, supported by a kitchen, office, and wine pick-up area, while a wood trellis shades the patio for year-round seating and music. Stucco, large-format stone, exposed timber, and dark iron detailing ground the architecture in its rural setting, and lavender-lined walkways with clear circulation tie the experience together—designed to support gathering, hospitality, and connection to the vineyard.
